On this site, which was created specially in 2008 to follow all the action of the Terrasvogels-team during the European Cup Tournament in Prague, you can now check out all the action of the team during the CupWinners Cup in Parma (Italy). Daily reports and photos will be posted of the games played by the team, so please follow the mentioned links in the text and you will find all details.

In Parma, Terrasvogels has to do without pitcher Femke van Dusschoten, who is with the team, but is not eligible to participate due to an administrative error. Femke’s name wasn’t mentioned on the provisionary roster, which had to be handed in to the European Softball Federation 30 days before the start of the competition. Efforts to correct the error failed, meaning Femke, who earlier this month was a member of the Dutch National Softball Team that captured the European title in Valencia, is unable to play. Instead, Femke is now with the team as a member of the staff.

The team flew to Italy on Saturday, August 15. After a short one hour, 15 minutes flight from Amsterdam, the Airbus 319 from easyJet landed safely in Milan. There, a bus was waiting to bring the team to Parma, where it arrived after almost two hours at the hotel, where it will stay during the tournament.

On Sunday, August 16, in the morning, the team held its first practice session at one of the playing sites (Field B). In the afternoon, the team was off, some of us went to Parma, but there everything was closed, as this was a holiday-weekend. In the evening, the technical meeting of the tournament was held, which lasted only one hour and 30 minutes.
